As entrepreneurial fellows at Reese News Lab, an experimental media project in the UNC School of Journalism, my team was challenged to take public records and make them accessible, beneficial and financially sustainable. We spent the summer conducting consumer research and working to refine our idea and concept.
Legal Stats is a service that takes public records data from court records over the last five years to statistically predict the outcome for any type of case. My team pitched and won funding for the initial stages of development in early 2015.
Legal Stats development has been put on hold, but it is our hope that the University of North Carolina will return to the project. I produced this promotional video in anticipation of launch.
