Virginia Repertory Theatre is a $5 million professional theatre company in Richmond, Virginia, and the largest theatre company in central VA. I came to work for Virginia Rep in August 2015. I spent my first few months getting to know this organization working in the box office and house managing main stage shows.

In February 2016, I was promoted to Marketing Associate. Working closely with the Director of Communications, Managing Director and Artistic Director, I took part in developing and implementing marketing & advertising campaigns for 17 shows in my first 12 months. I also independently managed the company’s social media and digital analytics. I loved using these tools, in conjunction with traditional advertising, to get Virginia Rep’s message to new audiences.

Using art for good is fundamentally important to me. At Virginia Rep, I was been lucky to have the opportunity to do just that: I pitched, launched and continue to coordinate our Community Tickets Grant program; I promoted our new Sensory Friendly performances for audiences with autism and other sensory, learning and social challenges; I pushed for our participation in the Ghost Light Project.

One of my favorite responsibilities was maintaining our social media (check us out on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, Snapchat…) In my time at Virginia Rep, I researched and implemented new tools including Facebook Business Manager and Instagram for Business to use social media more effectively, gather data and target the right patrons.

Working for Virginia Rep was an invaluable experience and and incredible opportunity to bring professional theatre to Richmond, VA. To learn more about my time and responsibilities at Virginia Rep, check out my resume or send me an email.
